The San Antonio location of NuHope Recovery provides Suboxone treatments to adult men and women struggling with opioid withdrawal. When individuals withdraw from opioids, the symptoms are often painful or uncomfortable and may lead to relapse simply so those symptoms will stop. Suboxone treats those symptoms, deterring the individual from relapsing and helping increase their motivation for remaining in treatment. Clients of NuHope may also have access to pain management, psychiatric medications, physical therapy, and individual recovery coaching. Evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, addiction education, and EMDR are also used in regard to treating any underlying problems. NuHope does accept some health insurance plans and Tricare, but they do not currently accept Medicaid.

Positive Recovery in San Antonio provides access to in-person and virtual outpatient treatment services for men and women who need help with their specific addictions. All programs are customized to the individual client, but they are also multidisciplinary and work to address the person as a whole. Treatments include individual and group therapies, psychoeducation, family therapy, and life skills training. Each program may also include experiential services such as music therapy, creative arts, and recreational activities. All programs also incorporate aftercare planning. Positive Recovery does accept several insurance providers and may offer different financial options for clients that may be struggling financially.

Alpha Home is a community recovery center that combines evidence-based services with spirituality in order to provide long-term addiction treatment programs. The minimum time a typical client remains in treatment is around 60 days, but they are encouraged to remain as long as it takes for the individual to fully heal and feel comfortable leaving Alpha Home. The residential program is specifically for women over the age of 18 and includes assessments, case management, process groups, Seeking Safety, individual therapy, different educational support groups, wellness training, relapse prevention, and behavior modification. The co-ed outpatient programs mostly consist of group therapies that discuss topics such as trauma, domestic violence, anger management, and continuous support through 12-step meetings. This facility does accept Medicaid alongside other insurances.

New Season Treatment Center in San Antonio is a medication-assisted treatment facility that offers outpatient services to adult men and women. This program specifically addresses withdrawal symptoms often associated with opioid addiction. Clients will have access to FDA-approved medications such as methadone, buprenorphine, or Suboxone. Treatment also includes medical supervision, individual and group therapies, family-inclusive programs, ad different examinations to ensure that the client is safe throughout the entire process. Prior to taking these medications that treat withdrawal, clients must have completed a detox program and have no drugs in their system. Following medical withdrawal, if the client requires longer-term services that are more comprehensive and specific to their needs, they will receive a referral to another facility.

The Alamo Area Resource Center (AARC) provides mental health and substance abuse treatment plans to individuals in the San Antonio area who also struggle with homelessness, disabilities, or blood-transmitted diseases like HIV. Clients will work with a comprehensive treatment team that consists of counselors and addiction specialists. Available services include individual and group therapies, and psychiatric medication management. Group therapies make up most of these programs and allow clients to discuss topics with one another. These topics include acceptance, overall wellness, relationships, gender identity, relapse prevention, and addiction education. AARC does provide all of their services in Spanish and English. AARC also offers LGBTQ+ health programs, social services, and prevention programs for the entire community.

Soba Texas is a drug and alcohol treatment center that offers each of their clients a full continuum of care in a luxury setting. Because of this, clients are able to walk through their entire recovery journey with the same treatment team. All programs are completely individualized to the specific client, allowing for the most effective outcome that promotes long-term recovery. Soba Texas provides access to a 30-day residential treatment program, allowing clients to remain under constant supervision with an intensive daily schedule that incorporates all of their services. Services may include CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, emotional intelligence and mindfulness, medication assistance if necessary, yoga, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and other services that promote overall wellness. Once the client completes their residential program, they may then choose to step down to PHP or IOP in an effort to gradually regain independence while still receiving support.

River City Rehabilitation Center has two locations in Texas: one in San Antonio and the other in New Braunfels. Both locations treat adult men and women over the age of 18 who have a chemical dependency problem to any type of opioids and have been addicted to those substances for at least one year. As a MAT facility, River City offers methadone or Antabuse. Both of these medications address the withdrawal symptoms that often accompany opiate withdrawal and make it easier for clients to remain in treatment longer. Each client will work with a treatment team that consists of medical doctors, nurses, and addiction specialists. Services are offered at a set fee and may be paid through different self-pay options.

CMS is a medication-assisted rehab program, working specifically to treat adults who are addicted to opioids. As a methadone clinic, this is the only medication they offer with regard to treating uncomfortable or painful withdrawal symptoms. CMS in San Antonio does provide access to same-day and walk-in clients. They offer individual therapy, group therapy, family programs, and peer support alongside methadone maintenance as well. Because withdrawal can be a more difficult process, clients are encouraged to include their loved ones so that they may have support. CMS accepts many health insurance providers as well as Medicaid and Medicare.

Lifetime Recovery Treatment Center is a non-profit organization that addresses drug abuse and alcohol addiction through outpatient and inpatient rehab programs. The goal is to design a comprehensive program that incorporates several modalities, including evidence-based therapies and holistic treatment options. The facilities are located in Bexar County with the residential program specifically housing men. Services include CBT, group therapy, community interaction, motivational enhancement therapy, behavior modification, medication management, 12-step meetings, and nutritional education to name a few. Outpatient services are offered to men and women, consisting mostly of individual and group therapies that allow individuals to discuss various topics with their clinicians and peers. Clients are never turned away based on their inability to pay, and Lifetime Recovery actually prioritizes helping individuals with little to no financial means.

San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center that treats adults who are in need of comprehensive, round-the-clock care. Residents will have access to a state-of-the-art facility, recreational gym areas, outdoor sports, and detox. Clients participating in the residential program will have a plan that consists of CBT, DBT, prolonged exposure therapy, cognitive processing, addiction education, prevention services, nutritional guidance, wellness training, mindfulness, yoga, and meditation. Other available services include stress management, coping skill development, aftercare planning, art therapy, and movement therapies. San Antonio Behavioral Healthcare does also offer some short-term services for children and adolescents as well as programs specific to active-duty military.
