Toxicology Associates is a methadone clinic, working specifically with adult men and women who suffer from withdrawal symptoms due to opioid addiction. Other treatment options used include pharmacological therapy, medical healthcare services, individual therapy, group sessions, and family therapy. Because opioids can be taken using needles, Toxicology Associates does also provide medical services to test for TB, Hepatitis, HIV, and any other blood-born diseases. Each client will work with a treatment team that consists of professionals who have studied opioid addiction as well as people in recovery from this disease themselves. Toxicology Associates has four other recovery center locations in Texas, three of which are located in various areas of Houston.

Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (COADA) is a non-profit mental health organization that combines prevention services, crisis interventions, and treatment programs for adults and adolescents who are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Each substance abuse treatment may include different individual and group therapies, case management, and family programs. Each recovery program will also include peer coaching and sober activities held throughout the community. COADA incorporates family members and the entire community in each rehab program because the client’s environment and access to support play a large role in maintaining long-term sobriety. Treatment plans are also provided to women who are pregnant or are struggling with postpartum depression as well as veterans struggling with drug or alcohol addiction due to their time in the military. This treatment center accepts most health insurance plans, state funds, and forms of self-pay through a sliding fee scale.

Editorial Note
Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse is not accredited by the Joint Commission or CARF. Because of their reviews on Google, access to services, and the overall lack of treatment centers in this area, we have included them in our list of best rehabs for Corpus Christi.

CARS is another outpatient treatment facility that specifically provides medication-assisted treatments to adult men and women who are suffering from the withdrawal symptoms commonly associated with opioid addiction. CARS specifically works with men and women struggling with addiction to heroin, morphine, Dilaudid, hydrocodone, Lortab, Lorcet, Oxycontin, and Vicodin. When it comes to addressing the actual opioid addiction, clients will be prescribed methadone. While clients are taking these medications, they will also participate in various forms of individual, group, and family therapies. Methadone is used to reduce any negative symptoms associated with opioid addiction, but clients must have completed medical detox prior to taking this medication. The overall goals of treatment through this program are to provide each individual with the medical support required during withdrawal and to give each individual client the most effective program possible.

Shoreline

Taft, Texas

Shoreline is an inpatient drug and alcohol rehab center for adolescents, ages 13 to 17. Though the main goal is to address the drug abuse that the client is struggling with, Shoreline works to address the underlying behaviors that are increasing the individual’s risk for harm and drug use. Because Shoreline works with adolescents, clinicians and other members of the treatment team make sure that all of the behavioral therapies and activities used are effective for helping clients with developing brains. Clients are also encouraged to incorporate their family members and loved ones into each program as a way of addressing the home life and environment that these adolescents are living in. While receiving treatment, Shoreline also provides each client with access to an on-site school. This ensures that each individual is still able to continue their education while receiving the treatment they need. Aftercare services are also available and often an important part of treatment.
