Salvation Army Harbor Light Center is a behavioral health treatment provider that works to address all forms of substance abuse and co-occurring homelessness that may also be present. Though the initial goal is to treat the client’s addiction, services are also included to help them develop skills necessary for supportive employment, develop a plan that promotes total wellness and overall health within their life, and help each client rebuild relationships with their loved ones and family members. Salvation Army is a faith-based facility, so clients will be expected to engage in certain spiritual activities. Other treatment options may include a weekly number of hours of individual or group therapy, skill development classes, and more. Clients are provided with a healing environment to live in while they participate in a variety of activities that support their healing journey. Many of these services are also offered at no fee.

Most, if not all, of their programs are trauma-informed as many of these women struggle with underlying conditions that stemmed from domestic violence, homelessness, or untreated mental illnesses. The goal is to address all of these conditions at the same time as each woman is treated for their substance use. Their residential program is based on 30, 60, or 90-day schedules where clients are offered a safe environment to live while they receive treatment. Some services include case management, recovery support groups, individual counseling, relapse prevention planning, life skill development, job training, and health and wellness education. While participating in these programs, women are able to feel confident that their children are also taken care of in the on-site childcare that Epiphany provides. Once residential treatment is complete, many of the clients transition into Epiphany’s sober living facility where they are able to continue receiving support and care while regaining independence.
