Good Heart’s philosophy for treatment rests on compassion, mindfulness, clinical therapies, and medical care. Residents living at this facility will have access to clean and healing accommodations and chef-prepared meals that foster total nutritional health within each individual. Available addiction treatment services through this program include life skills training, family programs, yoga, art therapy, meditation, relapse prevention training, group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, and more. All women will have access to health and wellness plans, educational support, job training, and a lifetime of aftercare support.

Treatment teams travel to each client’s home so that they can receive critical care while remaining at home. At the beginning of this process, clients will be assessed by their treatment team so that the safest and most effective plan will be developed. While participating in this detox program, clients will also have access to different at-home therapeutic approaches that address the body, mind, and soul simultaneously. The goal is to help rid clients of any substances within their bodies while also providing customized therapies that address any underlying conditions or areas of their life that are in need. Following the completion of this detoxification program, clients will be referred to another facility where they may be able to develop a longer-term treatment plan that helps address underlying conditions or areas in their life that led to drug use.

Cottage Health is a general healthcare provider in California, offering a long list of primary health services to men, women, and children living in the Santa Barbara area. Their psychiatric and addictive medicines department offers a residential chemical dependency treatment program that offers 24-hour medical supervision to adult men and women throughout this entire process. Residents will be provided with access to either private or semi-private living spaces and will work with a multidisciplinary treatment team throughout the entire rehab program. Available services include individual therapy, group therapy, 12-step programs, mindfulness training, relapse prevention, acceptance and commitment therapy, spiritual guidance, experiential activities, yoga, stress management, coping skill development, family therapy, addiction education, and discharge planning. Cottage Residential Center does work with many different health insurance providers, but they do not currently accept Medicare or other forms of payment.

Mission Harbor Behavioral Health is a Santa Barbara and Los Angeles-based treatment facility that takes a multidisciplinary approach to substance abuse and mental health treatment. Because they specifically offer outpatient treatments, Mission Harbor is a more flexible and affordable rehabilitation center. Clients will participate in services such as crisis interventions, stress management, anger management, psychiatric assessments, psychoeducation, mindfulness training, interpersonal psychotherapy, exposure therapy, and family therapy to name a few. Along with individual and group therapies, clients will be expected to participate in different programs with their family members to address complications within the home. Mission Harbor does also offer adolescent-specific programs.

Aegis Treatment Centers is an outpatient medication-assisted treatment facility that works with adult men and women over the age of 18 who suffer from any form of long-term opioid addiction and withdrawal. Clients will be offered either methadone or buprenorphine, both of which are FDA-approved to treat the symptoms that often occur when clients detox from these types of substances. Along with medication, clients will also participate in treatment services such as individual therapy, group therapy, psychoeducation, gender-specific treatments, and mindfulness training. The goal of this treatment center is to increase client motivation for change which is often difficult if uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms are present. Methadone and buprenorphine can be used to address the symptoms, decrease the threat that they have on the client’s sobriety, and work to reduce the possible risk of relapse or overdose. Aegis Treatment Centers does accept several different forms of health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and forms of private pay. Once clients complete their MAT program, they may be referred to an inpatient or outpatient treatment center nearby where they will be able to receive more specialized substance abuse treatment.

For a small number of adult men and women, Cottage Health Detox provides access to short-term inpatient detoxification services. This program is more specifically able to help those with more chronic conditions that require 24-hour medical supervision in order to heal in the safest and most effective way possible. During this process, clients will participate in services such as assessments, case management, medication management, education, individual therapy, support groups, family therapy, spiritual guidance, pain management, yoga, movement therapy, expressive arts, and nutrition education. Because this is only a short-term inpatient stay, clients may receive referrals to other trusted, local facilities that can treat the client once they have officially been stabilized. Cottage Health Detox does accept most private insurances and Medicare.

Santa Barbara Rescue Mission is a Christian-based organization that works to address the needs of individuals throughout the Santa Barbara area. Though they offer a long list of other programs, the Bethel House location specifically offers a 12-month residential program for women. The foundation of this program rests on 12-step philosophies, but clients will be able to work with their treatment team to incorporate other services with 12-step work. The goal is to treat each woman as a whole, providing them with a list of individual and group therapies as well as other supplemental, faith-based services. Clients will be required to participate in different activities that heal each woman’s relationship with their faith. Some other available services include family therapy, addiction education, relapse prevention, and job training.

Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (CADA) takes a trauma-informed approach to substance abuse treatment, utilizing a combination of services and addiction specialists in order to offer the most comprehensive plan possible. This specific location offers residential services to adult men and women who require 24-hour withdrawal management and daily schedules that are supportive and effective. This facility works with up to 12 individuals at a time, allowing clients to receive the time and attention from their clinicians that is necessary for an effective recovery process. While in treatment, clients participate in services such as 12-step meetings, early recovery group therapies, individual counseling, the Matrix Model, cognitive behavioral therapy, relapse prevention training, and family therapies. Clients may also have access to medication assistance if they suffer from opioid withdrawal symptoms.
