New Life is a non-profit addiction treatment organization that utilizes 12-step philosophies as the foundation of each of their treatment programs. This program is a faith-based organization, however, their programs reflect the needs of the client and do not necessarily include religious services or philosophies. Clients begin with residential treatment in order to fully immerse themselves in the recovery process before stepping down to outpatient treatment as they are better able to handle higher levels of independence and responsibility. They will work closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team, consisting of highly trained addiction specialists and counselors, to ensure that the client is safe and supported through every step of this process. Some of the available substance abuse treatment services offered at New Life include individual counseling, group therapy, family programs, various forms of addiction education, on-site childcare, vocational training, educational support, and aftercare programs. New Life also offers treatment plans specifically designed for working professionals who may not be able to commit to residential rehab.

This facility offers access to comprehensive inpatient treatment for men and women dealing with various forms of drug abuse or alcohol addiction. Clients are able to remain in treatment for 30-90 days, living in a co-ed facility with a total of 30 clients at any given time. Each recovery program will include trauma therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, individual counseling, peer-led support groups, life skill building, and mindfulness training. Clients will also have to participate in daily meetings with the other individuals living at the facility. Santa Cruz Recovery does accept Medi-Cal and forms of health insurance as payment for the offered programs.

Coastal Turning Point is a behavioral health care facility that works with teenagers and adults to recover from substance use disorders and possible co-occurring mental health issues. The foundation of each program is based on a combination of 12-step philosophies and evidence-based therapies, but clients will be able to work with their treatment team to choose the specifics of their individual program. Along with the general individual and group therapies, clients are encouraged to work with their loved ones in various family-inclusive programs to address needs within the home. Other available services include DBT, life skills training, CBT, acupuncture, biofeedback, stress management, and EMDR. Through a personalized combination of these treatment options, clients will set goals, build individual self-esteem, develop healthy relationships and boundaries, and develop coping skills to be used long-term to manage triggers.

Available services include relapse prevention training, gender-specific group therapies, aftercare planning, individual therapy, group therapy, family programs, crisis interventions, and various assessments. Sobriety Works also offers programs that act as alternatives to incarceration for individuals who have legal complications due to drug or alcohol use. Though Sobriety Works only offers outpatient treatment programs, they do provide their clients with access to sober living environments if they choose to live with their peers in a supportive, healing environment that is connected to their rehab provider. Clients who require help from a detox center or more intensive inpatient care will receive referrals to local programs that better address their needs.

Clients are able to receive specific forms of withdrawal management, including programs designed to help men and women withdraw from opioids in the safest way possible. Medication-assisted treatment options include methadone, Suboxone, or Vivitrol. Once clients have made it through the withdrawal process and are ready to begin treatment, they will work with their team to design a drug or alcohol treatment plan that fits their needs. This may include process groups, addiction education, individual counseling, skill development activities, yoga, various adventure therapies, acupuncture, nutritional guidance, and so much more. Janus of Santa Cruz does accept several forms of health insurance, but they will also work with their client to ensure that whichever payment plan is chosen is most affordable for them.

Individuals living in this area will have access to meeting times and locations, and they will also be able to choose meetings based on the topics discussed or the specific format of the program. The AA website does also offer information about events taking place in the community and other helpful resources.  

    Santa Cruz Narcotics Anonymous: Similar to AA meetings, NA meetings often provide critical support for men and women during their drug addiction recovery process. This website offers Santa Cruz-specific information about meetings, local sober events, and other critical resources. Men and women can find support groups closest to them and be connected with individuals in their area who are experiencing similar situations and can hold one another accountable throughout this time. 

    Santa Cruz Al-Anon: In many cases of drug or alcohol addiction, family members also require support. Al-Anon is an organization that provides different meetings around specific areas to support these family members and connect them with other families in the area who may also require support. This website does offer a lot of information regarding these meetings, different local events, and ways in which family members can support their loved ones through the recovery process. 

    County of Santa Cruz: As a government-run website, the County of Santa Cruz website offers access to different addiction and mental health resources.
