This specific location of Saint Josephs Hospital offers medication-assisted treatments to individuals in the area struggling with opiate withdrawal symptoms. Clients will have access to Methadone maintenance as well as buprenorphine, various medical and psychiatric assessments, individual therapy, group counseling, vocational training, healthcare education, and referrals to more intensive programs. Queens Addiction Recovery Support

  • Alcoholics Anonymous: Along with providing times and locations for AA meetings in the Queens area of NYC, individuals also have access to community events and local resources for alcohol treatment. This program connects men and women across New York City who need peer support from individuals who also understand alcohol abuse.

Narcotics Anonymous Western Queens: This website provides access to meeting times and locations in the Western Queens area for both men and women dealing with drug abuse. These meetings can be utilized prior to attending a recovery program as a form of motivation. They are often required during treatment as a type of communal support group, and most clients find these meetings to be extremely helpful for continued support once their treatment program has ended.

New York Narcotics Anonymous: This is another verified NA website with access to both in-person and virtual meetings across New York and specifically in the Queens area. These meetings are similar to AA in that they utilize the 12-steps and provide long-term peer support to individuals in recovery as well.

Al-Anon New York: Al-Anon is another 12-step addiction program that works with family members who are dealing with a loved one’s addiction. Along with community support, this service provides clients with education on addiction. It also gives them a chance to develop their own coping skills for dealing with this situation.

  • What is the average cost of a drug rehab program in Queens, New York?

The cost of rehab depends on the specific treatment facility, which level of care a client is enrolled in, and whether or not the program accepts insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, has a sliding fee scale, or accepts clients even if they are unable to pay. The wide range of rehab costs can be anywhere from free to more than $60,000 for a 90-day residential stay. It is important to discuss the cost of your treatment program as well as payment options with the admissions team to ensure that they help find you the best financial aid possible.

What if I can’t afford rehab in Queens?

There are many different nonprofit addiction treatment centers and rehab services that will not turn clients away based on their ability or inability to pay. A lot of these programs offer sliding fee scales or grants that ensure each individual is able to receive treatment. In these cases, clients will still receive comprehensive services that address their individual needs.

How is a MAT clinic different than a rehab treatment facility?

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) clinics specialize in addressing withdrawal symptoms of men and women struggling with opioid use disorders or alcohol abuse. Clients have to be detoxed prior to admission into the program, but once they enroll they are provided with medications that specifically target withdrawal, cravings, and pain in these individuals. Once those symptoms are reduced, it is typically easier for clients to remain committed to their rehab program and continue to be motivated to change. These facilities may also offer very basic levels of short-term individual and group therapies, but they do not offer longer-term or more comprehensive services as an addiction rehab would.
