Amethyst House is a female-only substance abuse treatment center that provides residential treatment for 6-9 months. Each program consists of the 12-step approach to addiction treatment while also incorporating services like conflict resolution groups, self-help support groups, individual therapy, creative arts therapies, recreation, parenting classes, and more. Clients will also be required to participate in a community-based program with their peers. These services are customized to the individual client through the guidance of their treatment team and addiction specialists. In order to receive help through Amethyst House, female residents must be at least 18 years old and seek treatment voluntarily for their drug or alcohol addiction.

Each person who needs help with be provided with whatever services they need in order to be treated and feel safe. Recovery programs through Project Hospitality include access to food and nutritional services, community initiatives, outreach, education, supportive housing services, individual and group therapy, relapse prevention planning, family programs, domestic violence support, and various mental health therapies. For clients who require more intensive treatments such as detoxification or inpatient drug rehab, Project Hospitality will provide them with the necessary referrals.

Bay Street works with individuals who are struggling with drug abuse as well as their families who may also be experiencing side effects of that abuse. The treatment facility is newly renovated, offering clients a safe and comfortable space that promotes overall wellness and recovery. Treatment options include recovery coaching, individual therapy, support groups, family-inclusive programs, sober social events, recreational therapy, yoga, wellness activities, creative arts workshops, SMART Recovery, and 12-step meetings both on and off-site. Bay Street, which is part of an organization called Community Health Action of Staten Island, also offers other community support services such as education, HIV/AIDS services, mobile health units for easier access to primary care and mental healthcare, food assistance programs, harm reduction, overdose prevention crisis services, domestic violence support, and housing assistance. By offering so many programs, Bay Street is able to provide clients with more than just drug treatment. They are able to change lives and promote a long-term sense of recovery that sets each individual up to live a successful life.

Staten Island University Hospital is an overall healthcare system that also provides supportive substance abuse treatment plans for men and women struggling with addiction. Clients will be evaluated by a treatment team that determines what their needs are and how to best address those needs. Motivational interviewing is the main counseling service used to determine where the client is at and how best to help them in an outpatient setting. Staten Island University Hospital offers Methadone maintenance and outpatient programs to individuals struggling with opioid use disorders, but they may refer their clients to a different rehab program if their needs exceed the services offered here. Available services include education, vocational assistance, community service, recovery readiness groups, aftercare planning, relapse prevention education, life skill development groups, and 12-step meetings. The University Hospital works to ensure that every person seeking help is able to receive it, so they make services accessible for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Bridge Back to Life Center offers outpatient treatments with an emphasis on education. Along with treating the actual addiction and any symptoms clients are struggling with, this program also incorporates treatment services that address the financial, legal, spiritual, and familial aspects of the client’s life in order to promote overall recovery. Clients will have access to medication assistance for their withdrawal symptoms. Bridge Back to Life utilizes Suboxone or Vivitrol. Clients may also participate in programs such as medication management, group therapy, anger management classes, Seeking Safety, narrative therapy, trauma-informed therapies, case management, Matrix Model, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. Bridge Back to Life also offers specialized programs for members of the LGBTQ+ community, working professionals who cannot commit all of their time to recovery, older adults, adolescents, clients with co-occurring disorders, and domestic violence survivors. Clients are also encouraged to include any loved ones or family members in their drug and alcohol treatment programs.

Outpatient treatment services available through Camelot include individual counseling, group therapies, relapse prevention, anger management, educational seminars, medication assistance, and recreational activities. Adolescents are offered day treatment, while young adults and adults have access to evening IOP. Though each program follows a specific schedule, the individual therapies and programs within that schedule are individualized to meet the needs of the specific client. Family-inclusive programs and therapies are also utilized in each program. The goal here is to really educate each client about their substance use disorder and ways to remain safe and healthy despite their struggle with drugs or alcohol. Clients are able to pay for treatment best on their individual financial status so that no person is turned away. Camelot does also accept health insurance and Medicaid.
