Rochester Calkins VA Clinic provides short-term treatment services to veterans and their family members struggling with chemical dependency. Clients will have access to family therapy, individual therapy, support groups, evaluations, nutritional guidance, and medication management. Medical and psychiatric assessments help the clinicians and medical team determine the areas of need within the client’s life and how to best address them. This allows for more customization when it comes to their substance use disorder treatment programs. Because the VA Clinic does only offer outpatient services, clients do need to make appointments in order to receive care, and services are only offered during set hours.

The Pathways location in Rochester offers both outpatient treatments and medication-assisted treatment to help their clients through the withdrawal phase. Though they may work with clients struggling with other drug abuse conditions, Pathways specializes in working with men and women suffering from opioid use disorders. These clients will have access to Methadone, Vivitrol, or Suboxone. Other available substance abuse services include varying types of therapy. The goal at this specific facility is to address withdrawal symptoms and help clients manage them so that they are able to commit to a rehab program. The biggest threat to men and women who have abused prescription pain medications, heroin, or other opioids is a relapse because of the painful and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. With the help of MAT, clients are better able to commit to a program and focus on their recovery journey without the threat of relapse or overdose.

Editorial Note Though Pathways in Rochester has fewer than 10 Google reviews, none of which were left in the last year, they do offer some good information regarding the facility and the programs they offer.

Conifer Park in Rochester works with men, women, and their family members to address addiction through a variety of behavioral health services. Along with specific treatments for the drug use, clients will participate in an array of behavioral therapies and healthcare services that address them as a whole rather than solely focusing on the symptoms of addiction. The goal is to provide tools and skills that can be utilized outside of treatment to maintain sobriety long-term. Because Conifer Park does also offer medication assistance, clients may need to complete a detox program prior to enrolling.
