Catholic Charities is a not-for-profit community service provider that not only offers substance abuse treatments but also works with members of the community to promote anti-poverty programs such as housing assistance, case management, education, and various prevention services. Though they are a Catholic organization, all treatment plans are customized to the individual and only utilize spiritual guidance if asked for by the client. Each drug treatment program is holistically-based, often combining some form of assessment with treatment services like psychopharmacology, individual therapy, family therapy, educational groups, court-ordered programs, relapse prevention programs, life skills development, trauma-informed care, coping skill training, stress reduction, anger management, emotional regulation, and mindfulness. Specific programs are also in place for adolescents, and family members or loved ones can attend Narcan training classes to better inform themselves about addiction and how to prevent overdoses. Catholic Charities also offers a crisis intervention unit, job readiness training, and recreational therapies.

Richard C. Ward works specifically with adult clients who identify as female to provide them with an inpatient drug rehab that offers comprehensive programs. They offer 48 residential spots at any given time and combine psychiatric care with other medical services to ensure that the entire client is treated. Each program is individualized to the specific client’s needs and utilizes various evidence-based approaches that effectively address their substance abuse and possible behavioral health problems at the same time. Available services include trauma-informed therapies, acupressure, yoga, mindfulness, meditation, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, anger management, interactive journaling, psychodrama, and medication assistance.
