They work to increase access to healthcare and other important services for Native Americans in this particular tribe. Though the main goal through Island Crossing Counseling Services is to treat the individual who is suffering from opioid abuse, this facility also works to ensure that family members and the rest of the community are involved in recovery. Each program is affordable, comprehensive, and unique to the individual. Clients will have access to either Suboxone or methadone, both of which are FDA-approved and help to reduce any withdrawal symptoms that may be causing pain or discomfort. The goal is to treat these symptoms prior to any sort of rehab program. Once those symptoms are under control, the client is then able to focus on their recovery journey and enroll in a longer-term program if necessary.

Individuals of all ages and genders are welcome to receive treatment at any of the locations nearest to them. These groups may include movement activities, yoga, interactive journaling, and gender-specific services. Topics discussed during these groups are overall health, trauma, art, parenting, skill development, overall wellness, and so much more. Each program is customized to the client to ensure that their unique needs are met, however, the foundation of every program rests on choice theory and reality therapy. This specific location offers 70 beds to clients needing help through services such as medication assistance, addiction education, life skill development, nutritional guidance, therapeutic fitness, recreation, meditation, pain management, and relaxation training. This program is specifically meant for men and women over the age of 18 who require intensive, round-the-clock care. The length of each program does depend entirely on the individual but on average does last around 30 or 60 days.
