If clients need more intensive care or residential treatment, Blue Hills works with a partner facility that they refer to.
Rockland Recovery operates on the belief that addiction is a disease, and so it is treated with that in mind. Outpatient programs at this facility are gender-specific, and each provides a combination of individual and group therapies. Clients are required to participate in a certain number of hours each day and week. Programs may include cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga, meditation, art therapy, adventure therapies, and family programs. These treatment programs are designed to fit the individual client so they may look different from person to person. In general, they work to address addiction alongside other factors that may need to be addressed in order for the client to live a sober and fulfilling lifestyle once their program is completed.

Outpatient treatment services through LAMOUR use a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Because this is their main way of treating drug addiction or alcohol addiction, they are best used as continuing care or for less severe cases. Individuals who need more extensive and intensive levels of care may be referred to a residential treatment facility that is better able to address their needs. They do provide age-specific services to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and seniors, as well as work to provide both education and increased access to community support.

Boston Children’s Hospital has a substance abuse program that specializes in treating children and adolescents struggling with addiction recovery. Programs often rely on addressing problems within the family or the home that may have led to or worsened drug use. Clinicians work with their clients and loved ones to address possible emotional distress within the home, any healthcare issues, drug use within the family, and help each person develop coping skills and communication skills that may help these issues. Within the actual recovery program, clients will also participate in group therapies, individual counseling, psychopharmacology, drug testing, and medication assistance if needed. As this facility works with children and adolescents, it is critical that they provide sensitive programs that address developmental changes and needs in clients of that age group who are struggling with drug abuse.

Along with the various evidence-based therapies clients experience at Bedrock Rehab, there are different supplemental holistic treatments that work to ensure each client is addressed and treated as a whole. It’s important to focus on the overall picture of recovery rather than only focusing attention on the addiction symptoms the client is experiencing. By combining mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, group therapy, medication assistance, yoga, and outdoor recreation, clients are able to work with their treatment team and peers to treat complications of addiction as well as develop coping skills and relapse prevention strategies for the future. This allows clients of Bedrock to remain sober long-term and begin living a life without the fear of relapsing. While in detox, clients will receive 24-hour supervision and medical care to ensure that they go through this process as safely and painlessly as possible. They may also be prescribed different medications to treat withdrawal symptoms.
