Baton Rouge Addiction Recovery Support

  • What are some ways to help someone who is addicted to drugs?

When it comes to helping someone struggling with addiction, you cannot force them to seek help. You can, however, do some research, find a highly rated and trustworthy rehab treatment center, and provide them with the resources and support needed to get help. Never enable their addiction, but don’t villainize them either as this disease is not something people choose to experience. Whenever you are dealing with someone who struggles with drug or alcohol addiction, the best thing you can do is offer support and listen to their needs as well as your own.

What are some factors to consider when looking for a drug rehab center?

Finding a rehab center that is legitimate can be frustrating, especially in today’s world where there are so many scams. One of the first things you can look for is whether or not they are accredited by the Joint Commission or CARF. These accreditations are voluntary, meaning that the center had to apply for them and a team of unbiased individuals did an inspection of all of their programs to ensure the highest form of care is provided. You can also review the treatment facility’s review scores on Google or Yelp. People often only leave reviews if they had a really good or really bad experience. Pay attention to the number of reviews and the quality of the content written, though, as some places may be rated 5 stars but only have two reviews whereas another center may score a 3.9 but have over 200 reviews.

What is the average length of stay in inpatient rehab?

Though each inpatient treatment facility is different and the length of stay may vary, on average, clients participating in a residential program will be in treatment for around 30 to90 days. Some programs cap their clients at 30 days while others allow for long-term residencies of years. It really depends on the specific center, and if you require longer or shorter lengths of stay, the current facility you are at should be able to refer you to a program that better fits your time requirements.
