Clients typically begin IOP through New Dawn once they have completed a detox or inpatient treatment program. Because Desert Parkay is a psychiatric hospital, they provide clients with various assessments to determine specifically what needs to be treated and how to best treat it. Because this is a hospital setting, clients have constant access to medical professionals and their treatment team. Programs include group therapy, family counseling, recreation, expressive therapies, coping skill development, case management, education, and more. Clients will learn to communicate effectively, cope with cravings and triggers, and develop relapse prevention techniques to ensure they remain sober long-term.
