Clients who seek treatment for alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and any co-occurring disorders through Potomac Highlands will work with a highly trained, multidisciplinary treatment team that provides only the most effective, up-to-date treatment services available. Though each program may look a little different, in general clients will participate in different evaluations, medication management, different types of therapies, addiction education, DUI safety, case management, crisis interventions, and behavior management. These services allow clients to look beneath the service and find the underlying causes, such as mental illness, that may be contributing to their substance use. Once these conditions are pinpointed, clients and their clinicians have a much better opportunity to treat them at the same time and prevent relapses. The goal is to treat the client as a whole so that they can leave the facility with purpose. Clients will also participate in services that connect body, mind, and soul such as recreational therapy, socialization, and life skill development.
