Dr. Mary Gay PSYD, LPC, CPCS
Dr. Mary Gay is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Georgia in clinical practice since 1995 and a Certified Professional Counselor since 2013. She has a private practice at the Atlanta North Center for Change in Roswell, which she co-founded in 2000. Dr. Gay has studied, practiced, and given lectures on addiction and developmental trauma for the last 15 years and has a particular interest in working with professionals who have issues with addiction and/or trauma. She is a longstanding member of the American Counseling Association and the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of GA.
She recently co-founded the Southeastern Counselor Training Institute to share her knowledge and experience with other mental health professionals. Dr. Gay is drawn to working with addiction because of her own personal story of addiction and recovery. She believes that compassion and fundamental respect for the individual struggling with addiction are the cornerstones of effective substance abuse treatment.
Dr. Gay practices her own medicine by spending time with family and friends and her 3 dogs. She also enjoys traveling, walking, hiking, and finding opportunities to belly laugh.
