Altruism Counseling Services

At Altruism Counseling, we provide comprehensive support for mental health and addiction needs. We provide psychosocial assessments and create tailored treatment plans for individuals who need medically assisted treatment (MAT) such as Suboxone or Vivitrol. We offer outpatient and IOP for alcoholism and/or drug addiction for dual diagnosis. We offer DUI and anger management classes for dual diagnosis. We accept Medicaid and most commercial insurance for all services including DUI classes.

We incorporate the 12-step approach into our treatment, but understand this doesn’t work for everyone. We help clients identify triggers and teach them how to develop new coping skills other than drugs and alcohol.

How We Treat Addiction

We use a motivational interviewing approach which is non-confrontational approach of meeting the client where they are at in the cycle of addiction. We believe it is easy to stay sober in an inpatient facility, but the real challenge is learning how to stay sober while living in the community.

We teach clients how to do this. We also emphasize a 12-step approach, but understand this doesn’t work for everyone. We help clients identify triggers and teach them how to develop new coping skills other than drugs and alcohol.

This program has been very helpful and informative. It also keeps me grounded when I listen to my instructor. Helping others is what this program is all about and that is what our primary purpose is. I would recommend this program to anyone who has the desire to stay sober.

I really liked the classes at Altruism Counseling she makes it very easy to do your assessment and then the classes are really good. I came out of those classes wanting to stay sober and do the right thing. Her class has helped to give you the tools to try and stay sober. I just really had an overall wonderful experience.

About Our Helpline

LiveAnotherDay.org’s helpline is a private and convenient solution for individuals seeking treatment for addiction or mental illness.

Calls to our helpline (all non-facility specific 1-8XX numbers) will be answered by Recovery Advisors, American Addiction Centers, or one of our verified local treatment partners. Calls are routed based on geographic location.

Our helpline is offered at no cost to you and with no obligation to enter into treatment. In some cases, Live Another Day charges our verified partner a modest cost per call, which helps us cover the costs of building and maintaining our website. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a visitor ultimately selects.

For more information on Live Another Day’s helpline, as well as our selection process, mission statement, and staff, visit our About page.

If our helpline is unable to assist you, we recommend browsing our state-by-state listings of the Best-Rated Rehab Centers, reading our resource guides, or visiting SAMHSA.gov.
