Wyoming Recovery really values creating individualized programs that are very specific to the individual person. The types of treatments that may be used within these plans include family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, yoga, therapeutic fitness, acupuncture, massage therapy, peer support groups, motivational enhancement, and nutritional guidance. Clients do also have access to Suboxone treatment for opioid addiction. The goal is not just to treat the individual symptoms of their substance use disorder but to also address their entire life. Wyoming Recovery utilizes the best-trained professionals in order to treat clients as a whole, providing services that address body, mind, and soul at the same time. Length of care will also vary from client to client because each person is encouraged to progress through each program at their own pace.

Sheridan VA Medical Center

Sheridan, Wyoming

Sheridan VA Medical Center

Sheridan, Wyoming

The Sheridan VA Medical Center works with veterans and their loved ones to treat drug and alcohol addiction, mental illnesses, and any possible health problems that may have been caused by the drug use. All of these services are trauma-informed, including individual therapy, support groups, supportive housing, psychiatric care, anger management, medication management, and suicide prevention. Men and women who have served in the military also struggle with some form of trauma or PTSD following their retirement from service. This can lead to alcohol or drug use as forms of self-medication, and because these co-occurring disorders feed off of one another, it is critical that treatment addresses both at the same time. Sheridan VA assesses all of their clients in order to determine what needs to be treated and how. This treatment provider does accept military insurance as well as other treatment options, but it is important to recognize that not all treatment centers do accept military insurance so this VA clinic does make dual diagnosis substance abuse treatment more accessible.
