The Journey to Hope, Health & Healing (BHG Providence) provides both medication-assisted treatment services as well as counseling services. Clients suffering from opioid withdrawal will be prescribed one of three FDA-approved medications, like methadone, Suboxone, or Vivitrol. Counseling services may include cognitive behavioral therapy, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Providence Comprehensive Treatment Center is a medication-assisted treatment provider that works with adult men and women over the age of 18 who suffer from some form of opioid abuse. In order to treat those withdrawal symptoms, clients are prescribed both psychiatric medications and MAT prescriptions such as methadone, Suboxone, buprenorphine, and Vivitrol. Other available outpatient services include skill development, individual therapy, and group therapy. The goal is to treat withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and pain first. Most individuals detoxing from opioids will experience withdrawal, and that withdrawal is often painful enough to cause relapses or overdoses. Treating these symptoms through MAT prevents relapses from taking lives and can actually boost client motivation for continued change and long-term sobriety.

Woonsocket Comprehensive is another outpatient addiction treatment center that provides medication assistance to men and women suffering from opioid abuse withdrawal symptoms. This specific MAT location is a methadone-only clinic, so other medications will not be prescribed and clients will have to be referred out if they require different medications. Clients will also receive access to individual and group therapies as a way of easing them into the recovery process, allowing them to heal, and becoming more and more motivated to participate in longer-term treatments. Clients work closely with addiction specialists and medical doctors to ensure that the correct medications are being utilized and that the entire addiction recovery process is safe and effective.
