Though Keystone Treatment Center provides customized and individualized treatment programs, all of them are based on 12-step philosophies. Services are gender-specific and available to adults, young adults, and adolescents. Some of the available treatment options include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management, experiential therapies, recreational therapy, a ropes course, arts and crafts, Native American cultural activities, bibliotherapy, pastoral care, and more. Keystone Treatment Center does also provide specialized treatments for Native Americans, clients seeking Christian-based care, individuals struggling with chronic pain, methamphetamine corrections, and opioid dependence. The IOP services available here are offered either in the morning or the evening, allowing clients to choose a plan that best fits their schedule and allows them to receive treatment while continuing to participate in everyday responsibilities like work or school. The Arch is one component of the Carroll Institute that offers clients a wide variety of substance abuse treatment options aimed at treating both alcohol and drug addiction. Clients are assessed at the very beginning to help determine which areas of their lives are in need, what conditions they are struggling with, and what the best methods of treatment are. The Arch also offers DUI education, addiction education groups, prevention programs, court-mandated programs, and treatments specific to individuals in jail or having just been released from jail. Other services that are available in outpatient programs include relapse prevention training, the Matrix Model, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and communication skill development. Groups will discuss topics such as negative versus positive thinking, self-esteem, goal setting, relationship management, and trigger identification. All clients also participate in discharge planning and aftercare services that continue providing care even after a client’s program have ended. The Arch does also offer prevention programs for individuals ages 13-18 years old which are mostly made up of educational services.

Our Home has two different locations in South Dakota, including one in Huron, but the Parkston location is an inpatient drug treatment facility for juveniles that provides a healing environment for them to live in. Each recovery program combines some type of education, medical care, culturally-sensitive programs, and recreational activities in order to develop a comprehensive program. The Parkston facility helps kids ages 12-17 who are suffering from a variety of different conditions. Services include coping skill development, individual therapy, group therapy, 12-step programs, chemical dependency education, and relapse prevention training. This program offers various specialty tracks that are used depending on the individual client’s background or individual needs.

The inpatient treatments are available specifically to women who are pregnant or who have young children. Clients have access to private rooms, gender-separate wings, outdoor recreational areas, social gathering rooms, aromatherapy, a meditation room, a fitness center, and nutritious meals provided every day. Though drug and alcohol treatment programs are individualized to the specific client, they do include different types of evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Other services available include stabilization, medication assistance if needed, group therapy, individual counseling, family visits, chores, art therapy, recreational therapy, cooking classes, and other services that treat body, mind, and soul altogether.

Wellfully is a South Dakota drug treatment facility that specifically treats adolescents between the ages of 10 and 17 who may be struggling with alcohol abuse, drug addiction, and possible co-occurring disorders. The goal of these services are to address safe functioning within the home and other areas of the person’s life as well as help them develop the coping skills necessary for maintaining sobriety and positive behaviors long-term. The length of care does depend on the individual person, however, the average stay is around 45-60 days. Treatment services include individual counseling, coping skill development, trauma therapies, peer support, continuing care, aftercare planning, and more. Loved ones are encouraged to participate in these programs, especially when it comes to adduction education, prevention services, and learning how to deal with recovery in the home. Wellfully does accept Medicaid and other forms of payment for their services, including some forms of health insurance. Clients in need of detoxification services prior to treatment may need to be referred to a different facility.
