Each individually designed dual diagnosis treatment program combines evidence-based therapies with 12-step philosophies. Whether participating in ShareHouse’s inpatient drug program or outpatient services, clients will have access to spiritual guidance, art therapy, nutritional guidance, community meetings, group therapy, individual therapy, anger management classes, distress tolerance skill development, recreational therapy, education, and Seeking Safety. Clients have access to low-intensity and high-intensity outpatient treatment services that help clients identify their triggers and develop coping skills for when those triggers come up. Summit Prairie is a dual diagnosis treatment provider that utilizes several evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, family therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, motivational interviewing, and life skills training. Clients may also participate in 12-step meetings, mindfulness, psychodrama, Native American healing traditions, equine-assisted therapies, and various other programs that help clients with daily living. Clients will also be able to work with their clinician to design an aftercare program that provides continued support once their program has ended. This may include stepping down from residential care to outpatient, allowing for increased independence while still having some structure and support.

Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch is a Christian-based dual diagnosis treatment program that really emphasizes education and family involvement. They work with boys and girls ages 10-18, and all treatment options are trauma-informed and customized to the specific child’s needs. Addiction services for adolescents through this treatment facility include wellness education, recreational activities, equine assistance, and medication management. The overall goal here is to show each kid that they do have a support system willing to walk through the recovery process with them. Each kid will receive their comprehensive program at the same time as they continue with their education on-site so that they do not fall behind.

The drug and alcohol treatment program through North Dakota State Hospital offers short-term inpatient substance abuse treatment and psychiatric services for possible co-occurring disorders. This specific hospital works with individuals of all ages and addresses varying mental health issues alongside drug addiction and alcohol addiction. Each treatment plan is customized to the individual and may include medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, addiction education, life skills training, spiritual counseling, family therapies, and community-based programs. Clients are able to stay for as long as they need in order to heal, but most plans only range from a few days to months. North Dakota State Hospital accepts various forms of payment for their services, including Medicaid, health insurance, and self-pay based on a sliding fee scale.

Trinity Hospital is a full-service healthcare facility that offers many different treatment options and levels of care, allowing each adult client over the age of 18 to find a program that addresses all of their needs. Trinity Hospital offers various counseling services, individual therapy, addiction education, social skills groups, medical care, 12-step programs, and many evidence-based therapies that treat possible underlying conditions. Services can last anywhere from 4 weeks to 20 weeks depending on the needs of the client. Each client is also encouraged to include their loved ones in their program, in order to address problems within the home and educate family members on addiction and how to cope. In order to pay for treatment, Trinity Hospital accepts health insurance and self-pay options are also available.
