Youth Care of Utah, located 15 miles south of Salt Lake City, works with adolescent clients between the ages of 11 and 18 to provide round-the-clock care. Youth Care believes that young people should be treated in the most comprehensive way possible, meaning that residential services are the best way to treat behavioral health or substance abuse problems. The residential program is based on a point system. When clients participate in certain treatments or show positive behaviors and improvement, they will be rewarded points. The more points earned, the further the client progresses through each level. They receive various rewards and privileges based on those points. Some of the actual treatment services available include behavior modification therapies, family programs, recreational therapies, DBT, motivational interviewing, 12-step facilitation, medication management, and continuing care programs. The cost of these programs depends entirely on the specific client considering all services are customized to the individual, but Youth Care does work with each client to find the most affordable options and financial assistance if needed.
