When it comes to treating substance abuse, Gateway Foundation offers evidence-based treatment programs that combine different methods of care in order to address the emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects of each person. In doing this, they take a whole-person approach to treatment and set each client up with a recovery foundation that promotes long-term wellness alongside their sobriety. Though they may be able to treat a variety of drug addictions, the Aurora location specifically works with men and women who abuse opioids, heroin, alcohol, and other synthetic opioids. Clients will have access to semi-private living spaces, clean common areas, a fully-equipped gym, and outdoor recreational areas. Each program is designed for the individual client, but some of the services offered include medication assistance, cognitive behavioral therapy, Seeking Safety, 12-step meetings, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing. All clients will participate in both individual therapy and group therapy as well.

Care Clinics is a full-service behavioral health treatment facility that provides Aurora residents with access to supportive DUI services, anger management classes, and other court-mandated services that are required of individuals with criminal charges for driving under the influence. Each client is assessed at the beginning of this process so that their treatment team can determine which services are most appropriate for their specific situation. Each outpatient program will consist of addiction and DUI education, individual therapy, and support groups. Clients will also have access to driver’s license reinstatement programs. Taking Control is a community-based, therapy-intensive facility that offers substance abuse treatment to adults and adolescents. Their main method of treatment is based on therapy, so each client will work with their assigned clinician for most of their rehab program. Clients will also work with their peers in a variety of different group therapy options that give each person the chance to share their story, discuss their struggles, and develop relationships. Other available treatment options through intensive outpatient treatment include coping skill development, anger management, motivational enhancement, family therapy, and emotion regulation. Taking Control accepts some forms of health insurance, Medicaid, and forms of self-pay.

Family Guidance Center is an alcohol and drug treatment center, providing access to comprehensive treatment services that address the entire client as a whole. By offering a full continuum of care, this program is able to create customizable plans that fit each individual client and give them the level of care they need to recover. Each treatment plan combines various counseling programs, health services, crisis interventions, trigger management, case management, coping skill development, and toxicology screening. Clients suffering from opioid addiction will also have access to medication-assisted treatment options in order to minimize the withdrawal symptoms and cravings that are preventing them from committing 100% to their program. Family Guidance Center offers access to FDA-approved medications like methadone, Suboxone, and Vivitrol. Prior to utilizing these medications, clients must fully detox from the opioids in their system. Family Guidance Center is able to refer their clients to a trusted detox center where they can safely rid their bodies of these drugs.

Family Counseling Service of Aurora is a behavioral healthcare facility that provides a variety of treatments for mental health problems, drug abuse, and alcohol addiction for men and women of all ages, beginning as low as 3 years old. Programs are age-specific so as to be most appropriate and effective. This facility offers medication management, individual therapy, group therapy, case management, short-term crisis interventions, DBT, various holistic services, and continuing education services. All of their drug and alcohol treatment programs are offered in both English and Spanish. Because this facility values the community, clients are also encouraged to include their loved ones in various therapy services as well as connect with peers in the community who struggle with similar conditions.

Amita Health is a general healthcare provider with many different locations. The Aurora Medical Center is a full-service hospital that also provides access to drug addiction treatment programs and behavioral health services for individuals of all ages. Clients will have access to treatment services such as psychosocial rehabilitation, different types of individual and group therapies, medication assistance, withdrawal management, spiritual guidance, nutritional help, art therapy, psychoeducation, relapse prevention training, and coping skill development to name a few. Because they are a hospital, clients will also have access to 24-hour supervision and primary healthcare services if they are needed in order to treat the entire client as a whole.
